The terms that apply when you use Landvio. Written to be read — in plain English, with the disclaimers stated plainly.
01 About these terms
These terms govern your access to and use of Landvio — the website, the app at app.landvio.co.nz, and any reports or data we provide (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Landvio.
02 Who we are
Landvio is operated by Landvio Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand. Where these terms say “we”, “us” or “Landvio”, they mean Landvio Ltd. Where they say “you”, they mean the person or organisation using the Service.
03 Your account
You need an account to use most of Landvio. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you're using Landvio for an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
04 Subscriptions & founder pricing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All prices are in New Zealand dollars and exclude GST, which is added at checkout where it applies.
Founder pricing. Founding members lock the founder rate for 12 months when subscribed annually. After 12 months, your plan renews at the then-current standard price for your tier — we'll tell you before that happens. The monthly founder rate applies until the founding period ends, at which point standard prices apply. Founder pricing is a limited-time offer and we may open or close it at our discretion.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You authorise us to charge your payment method for each renewal.
05 Free plan & usage limits
The Free plan gives you a set number of property lookups each month — currently 10 — along with core map, zoning and title data. Limits and the features included in each plan may change as Landvio develops. Fair-use limits may apply to paid plans to protect the Service for everyone.
06 Data, accuracy & advice
Landvio brings together property data from LINZ, councils and other providers and presents it on one map. We work hard to keep it accurate and current, but the Service is provided for general information only.
Property boundaries, hazard extents, zoning and planning overlays are indicative only and may not reflect the most recent council or LINZ updates. Development controls and yield estimates are sourced from district plan data but are indicative and subject to site-specific constraints. Landvio is not a substitute for professional legal, planning, valuation, surveying or engineering advice. Always seek independent professional advice and verify with the relevant council before making property decisions or relying on this data.
07 Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, don't:
- scrape, bulk-download, resell or redistribute Landvio data except as your plan expressly allows;
- use the Service to breach the Privacy Act 2020 or any other law, including any unlawful use of owner or ownership information;
- attempt to access accounts, systems or data you're not authorised to;
- interfere with, disrupt or place undue load on the Service; or
- copy or reverse-engineer the Service to build a competing product.
08 Intellectual property
The Service — including its design, software, and the way data is compiled and presented — belongs to Landvio or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the Service while your account is active and these terms are met. Reports you generate are for your own business use; underlying source data remains subject to its providers' terms.
09 Third-party data
Landvio relies on data from LINZ, MBIE, local councils, Quotable Value, Tenancy Services and regional authorities. That data is owned by those providers and subject to their own terms and licences. We're not responsible for errors, omissions or availability in third-party data, and links to external sites are provided for convenience only.
10 Availability & beta
Landvio is in active development, and some features are released in beta. We aim for reliable, continuous service but can't guarantee the Service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change, suspend or remove features. Where something is coming, we mark it as such rather than imply it already exists.
11 Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We don't offer refunds on monthly subscriptions. Annual subscriptions cancelled within 14 days of payment may be eligible for a pro-rated refund — contact us at hello@landvio.co.nz. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other New Zealand law that can't lawfully be excluded. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
12 Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Landvio is provided “as is” and we exclude all warranties not expressly stated here. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made in reliance on the Service. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 that can't lawfully be excluded.
13 Privacy
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it and your rights. By using Landvio you consent to that handling.
14 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Landvio evolves. If we make a material change, we'll let you know — by email or in the app — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to them or the Service.
