01 Our approach

We collect the minimum personal information needed to run Landvio. We do not run advertising, we do not sell your data, and we do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes. This policy is written in plain English because we think you deserve to understand it.

Landvio is subject to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

02 What we collect

Account information — your email address and name when you create an account. If you sign up via Google, we receive only the information Google provides (name, email).

Usage data — which properties you look up, which layers you enable, and general platform usage. This helps us understand how Landvio is used and improve the product. It is not linked to property market data or shared externally.

Payment information — billing is handled entirely by Stripe. Landvio does not see or store your card details.

03 What we don't collect

We do not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. We do not collect information about properties beyond what is needed to retrieve and display public data for that parcel.

04 Property data vs your data

An important distinction: the property information Landvio displays (zoning, CV values, hazard overlays, title details) is publicly available data about properties, not personal data about you. This data is sourced from LINZ, councils, MBIE, Quotable Value, Tenancy Services and other public agencies, and is not linked to your account.

05 How we store it

Your account data is stored in a secure database (via Supabase), hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the Asia Pacific (Seoul) region — ap-northeast-2, South Korea. Because this region is outside New Zealand, your account data is stored offshore; the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 governs how we handle it.

We also rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate Landvio: Vercel (application hosting), Mapbox (interactive maps — which receives your IP address and map usage to serve map tiles), Stripe (payments) and Resend (transactional email). All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

06 Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections if it is inaccurate, and request deletion of your account and personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@landvio.co.nz and we will respond within 10 working days.

07 Questions or concerns

If you have any questions about how we handle your information, please contact us at hello@landvio.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
